The good news is… rooted in justice, mercy, and faithfulness.
As we move toward Holy Week, we see how Jesus’ ministry increasingly challenged religious leaders who prioritized strict legal interpretation. When a woman caught in adultery is brought before him, her accusers demand judgment according to the law. Instead of fueling the spectacle, Jesus invites them to examine their own sin, and the crowd disperses. In this moment, Jesus reminds us that faithful interpretation of the law must be rooted in justice and mercy. As we wrestle with our own rules and traditions, we can ask: What is the most just, merciful, and faithful response?
